Generator EU26

The Generator EU26, designed for HONDA, is a handheld generator powered by a gasoline engine. We collaborated with the HONDA design team during the design process. Although handheld, it weighs 26.5kg, and users can easily accidentally bump the generator against a car or wall when carrying it. Many products on the market avoid this problem by adding protectors. However, the EU26 has chamfered edges on all corners prone to bumping, designed with subtraction in mind and the conception that ‘you can’t hit something that doesn’t exist’. In addition, it has a unibody without the metal frame of previous models, resulting in a significant weight reduction. True to its initial concept, HONDA’s aim of creating products that ‘surprise and impress’ has been realized.
