NISSHO TELECOM

The Tubelumi desk lamp, created for NISSHO TELECOM, uses a CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent lamp) light source and is designed to look like a single tube form. The thin, light arm and four joints allow for unique poses not found in existing lighting equipment. The machined aluminium casing gives the design a slender look, and the simple body, made with parts modified from laptop hinges, ensures adequate rigidity, resulting in a long-lasting design that matches the service life of the light source. Although CCFLs have environmentally friendly characteristics compared to LEDs, they have the disadvantage of being susceptible to impact. However, utilizing an acrylic protective tube, the light has high luminance and sufficient strength and can be used flexibly at adjustable angles. The slender light source has a delicate yet stable form that fits into a height of 23mm when folded. The package is also 40mm thick, saving energy and space when stocked in shops and during distribution.
